Why Natives?
Native plants are naturally adapted to our local climate meaning they require less inputs (water, soil amendments, time) to thrive. Not only will they save you money and time but they also provide beauty, food and fodder for native pollinators, bees, birds and local fauna. It’s the ultimate way to support and love the diversity of Eastern Washington. (Where to start)
Our Beginning
Our business started in 2017 after discovering we had to travel outside the Tri-Cities to purchase native plants for our own garden. We were inspired to create a business that makes it easier for customers to incorporate the rich landscape of various native plant species in their own yard.
Our Mission
To support the interests of gardeners in the Mid-Columbia who enjoy the unique benefits ,both economical and ecological, of native, drought tolerant plants of Eastern Washington State.
Why Tapteal?
Located near the Yakima River, Tapteal Native Plants is named for the original name of the Yakima. "Tap teel" as observed by Lewis and Clark, was one of many Native American names for the river.
